The following short-duration courses are designed for Middle Schoolers or High Schoolers in need of “priming the pump” for particular courses they will take during the school year. At present, I offer the following Primers:
- Basics of Latin is a 2-week course running from July 18 to July 29 that introduces the basic principles of Latin nouns, verbs, and adjectives along with general translation principles. I highly recommend this course for any student wishing to take Latin who has not previously studied it, or for students who desire a refresher before resuming Latin studies in the Fall. $100.00
- Basics of Greek is a 2-week course running from July 18 to July 29 that introduces the basic principles of Greek nouns, verbs, and adjectives along with general translation principles. I highly recommend this course for any student wishing to take Greek who has not previously studied Latin. Students of Latin who want to get ahead by learning some of the important differences between the two languages are also encouraged.
- Enrichment Seminars are usually 6 weeks in duration, and cover a variety of literature, history, philosophy, and theology readings. I designed these primarily for working adults, but interested High Schoolers who want to delve deeper into particular books or subjects are also welcome. The course format is, generally, 15-20 pages of reading followed by a 1 1/2 hour live discussion of the text.
